Right missyclare, I've dealt with both hoof cracks and absesses, and it would have saved me a lot of time and money if I had the glue. Absesses should NOT be plugged. If you want to cover them so dirt doesn't get in them, use a layer of cotton gamgee over the absess and I use another layer of plastic sheeting over that, then duct tape the whole thing (like making a makeshift boot). It usually lasts all day, depending how thick you wrap it, and the footing in your paddock. If you have a rubber medicine boot to put over the whole thing, even better.

Well, I documented my adventure with Gorilla glue on Equisearch and to my surprise, they wrote a quickie about it in Horse and Rider magazine. They gave me another name and wrote it in a "caution" context, saying that I was lucky that it turned out the way it did and that I should have consulted a vet first.....and ofcourse, they were right......
