A TRIBUTE TO HELEN
This is a tribute to Helen,
That's definitely long overdue.
For all the trials and tribulations,
That Slinky has put her through.
Nobody knows of that exasperating time,
When each day could never be described as sublime.
Days turned to months
And months into years.
Yet Helen kept doggin',
Squelching her fears.
She learned to give needles
And precisely wrap hocks
She tried everything,
From magnetics, to supplements, and socks.
And all the while, poor Slinky stood very well
A picture so patient and brave
Such a grand show of strength, she showed, . She literally told us that she'd be saved.
There were many moments of sadness
And also moments of pain
As well as times of frustration
That memory has melded all the same
Slinky is now a retired gal
And stands fairly square on all fours.
She plays in the sunshine, with her two favourite pals,
And runs on green pastures ever more.
So, hats off to you, Helen,
A pat on the back and a smile,
Cause there's no better friend that I know
Than you, who goes that extra mile.
( A dedication from Slinky and Laura.)
